STEPHEN GEORGE PEACOCK SENTENCED IN MIDDLESBROUGH FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE

Stephen George Peacock, a 46-year-old man residing on Derby Avenue in the Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough, has been handed a significant prison sentence of nine years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses committed against two young girls. The crimes took place during the late 1980s and early 1990s, a period during which the victims, who were between the ages of 12 and 15 at the time, endured a series of traumatic experiences involving rape and acts of indecency with a child.

Judge Michael Cartlidge, presiding over the case at Teesside Crown Court, commended the victims for their remarkable bravery in coming forward to speak about their painful past. The judge acknowledged that it must have been incredibly difficult for them to break their silence after so many years, but their courage was instrumental in bringing the perpetrator to justice.

Peacock admitted to four charges of rape, two counts of indecency with a child, and two counts of indecent assault. His admission of guilt played a role in the court proceedings, which ultimately resulted in a nine-year prison sentence. In addition to his incarceration, Peacock was ordered to be placed on the sex offender register for life, a measure designed to protect the community and prevent further offenses. The court also prohibited him from working with children in any capacity in the future.

Throughout the sentencing, Judge Cartlidge expressed hope that the victims could now begin to rebuild their lives, looking forward rather than dwelling on the past. Peacock’s legal representative conveyed his client’s deep remorse, with the defendant himself acknowledging the wrongfulness of his past actions through his lawyer. The judge highlighted the difficulty of the police investigation, emphasizing that the victims’ bravery in revealing their experiences was crucial in securing justice.
