BLACKPOOL STALKER JAILED FOR INVADING WOMAN'S HOME TO PHOTOGRAPH HER WORK CALENDAR
A Blackpool man who stalked a woman and entered her home to take pictures of her calendar when she was at work has been sentenced to jail.Stephen Boyne was apprehended earlier this year after the victim reported to police at a petrol station in Kirkham that a man was following her in a car.
The police identified Boyne's vehicle and issued advice, initially arranging a voluntary interview.
The woman provided additional details, revealing multiple incidents involving Boyne, who was known to her.
In February, Boyne contacted her via messaging, claiming he knew she had items inside her house that were not visible from outside.
This caused concern as the victim believed Boyne had access to her address.
During the same month, Boyne visited her residence, shouting through her letterbox and an open window, trying to speak to her.
She responded by changing her locks and warning Boyne not to contact her again.
In March, a neighbor reported seeing Boyne’s car near her address.
The victim then left her home and encountered a man with his hood up approaching her.
Boyne identified himself by name and followed her as she drove away.
She managed to contact police at a petrol station and stopped to seek help.
Further investigations, including looking through his phone, revealed two photographs of her work calendar taken when she was at her job.
This indicated Boyne had entered her house while she was away.
Boyne, 55, of St Helens Close, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to stalking and was sentenced to 35 weeks in prison along with a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the woman.
PC Natalie Tidmas from Blackpool Police described the case as very traumatic for the victim and praised her for her bravery in coming forward, urging others in similar situations to seek help and report stalking to authorities.
