SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES COMMITTED IN 1980S
A man formerly residing in Wakefield has been convicted and sentenced for historical sexual offenses involving a minor.
The offenses committed by Jeffrey Fisher occurred within the Wakefield area during the 1980s.
The victim reported the abuse nearly four decades later, which prompted an investigation by officers from Wakefield’s District Safeguarding Unit.
Fisher was located at an address in Lancashire and was summoned to appear in court on multiple counts of historic sexual offenses, which he denied.
In a trial held at Leeds Crown Court in December 2025, Fisher was convicted on two counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, believed to have happened between 1981 and 1982; an indecent assault on a girl under 16, which took place between 1982 and 1984; and a count of rape involving a female over 16, believed to have occurred in 1984.
At his sentencing hearing on March 30, Fisher, aged 64 and of Kincraig Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and was placed under a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
