CAPEL HENDRE MAN TO STAND TRIAL OVER SEX OFFENCES
Steffan Anthony Ley McPhillips, a resident of Brynteg, made an appearance at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Friday facing a total of 15 criminal charges.The charges comprise seven counts of sexual touching, five counts of sexual penetration without consent, and one count of encouraging sexual activity involving a minor girl.
These allegations stem from incidents believed to have occurred beginning in 2018, with the victim being just 14 years old at the time.
It is alleged that on July 24 and 25, 2018, McPhillips engaged in sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl, knowing her age was below 16.
Furthermore, between July 1 and August 17, 2018, he is accused of encouraging a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activities.
An additional twelve charges relate to events on December 26, 2018.
The 20-year-old defendant faces accusations including sexual contact without consent and sexual touching involving a minor under 16.
He is also charged with four counts each of sexual penetration without consent and of penetrating a minor under 16.
Additional charges include sexual penetration using a finger without consent, involving someone under 16, on December 26, 2018.
McPhillips was granted unconditional bail and is scheduled to stand trial at Swansea Crown Court on June 26.
