MAN JAILED FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AND HARASSMENT
A 32-year-old man was sent back to prison after repeatedly contacting his former partner despite a court injunction prohibiting such contact.
North Wales Police reported that Barry McCollum, from Trem Engan in Penygroes, confessed to three violations of a restraining order shortly after being released from custody for the same offense.
During a court session at Llandudno Magistrates Court on December 4th, he received a additional 15-month prison sentence.
The police statement revealed that after his release, McCollum visited the victim’s residence and shouted through her letterbox.
He also came back twice more requesting money and clothing, despite being instructed to stay away.
Later, he phoned her from an unknown number and issued threats against her and her family, which resulted in his arrest.
Sergeant Liam Carr highlighted the significance of restraining orders, warning that breaching such orders can have serious implications, and expressed the hope that McCollum will consider the gravity of his actions during his incarceration.
