ESSEX MAN JAILED FOR KILLING GIRLFRIEND IN ALCOHOL-FUELLED ATTACK
A man named Skye Page, residing on Dunkirk Road in Burnham, received an eight-year prison sentence following his conviction for the fatal assault on his partner, Carolyn Hill.Carolyn, who was 51 years old, ended up suffering a brain hemorrhage after being struck in the face during an altercation at Waterside Holiday Park in St Lawrence Bay, Essex.
Page admitted to manslaughter at Chelmsford Crown Court in June, where he was subsequently sentenced.
The presiding judge, Patricia Lynch QC, criticized his conduct, stating he should feel remorseful and ashamed.
She told him, "You are clearly a man who believes it is acceptable to hit a woman.
You have taken the life of a beloved, beautiful mother." Court records indicated that the couple had been together for three years, during which Page had prior convictions for assault.
The incident took place on April 16, following reports from neighbors who heard loud noises and observed Ms Hill appearing injured.
She was last seen alive at 09:30 BST and was found dead the following day after Page contacted emergency services.
Essex police described her death as "completely unnecessary" and emphasized that Page, who was intoxicated at the time, had assaulted Carolyn—a behavior they found profoundly unacceptable given their long-standing relationship.
