Sion Douglas Griffiths, aged 38, from King Edwards Street in Barmouth, was convicted of a sexual assault that occurred in Llanrwst in August 2021.
The victim, who was asleep at the time, woke up to Griffiths sexually attacking her.
Despite her pleas for him to stop and her attempts to push him away, he persisted until she repeatedly demanded he cease.
Griffiths denied the charge but was found guilty of rape following a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court held in March.
On the day before yesterday, he was sentenced to seven years in prison at Mold Crown Court.
Additionally, Griffiths received a lifelong restraining order banning him from contacting the victim and was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
During the court proceedings, the victim read a heartfelt statement describing how the incident has profoundly impacted her, leading to panic attacks and feelings of fear and discomfort around men.
