EXETER SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR REPEATED ASSAULTS AND POSING ONGOING THREAT
A sex offender from Exeter, who concealed his identity by changing his name, has been sentenced again following an incident involving a juvenile.Casper Jax, aged 59, was reported to have hugged a teenage boy and inappropriately squeezed his genitals, according to Exeter Crown Court.
Jax, who originally resided in Bideford, received a 13-year prison term in 2015 for grooming and raping a 12-year-old.
His true name is Simon Rockey, but he adopted the name Jax upon release from prison in 2021.
Afterward, he became friendly with a woman whose 14-year-old son was involved, and he sexually assaulted the boy by groping him when they were alone.
The boy was shocked and disclosed the assault to his mother.
During the hearing on Thursday, September 25, Jax confessed to one count of sexual assault and two violations of his sexual harm prevention order, which had been imposed after his earlier conviction.
He was sentenced to four years imprisonment, with an additional four years on license to supervise his conduct.
Prosecutor Rowan Jenkins highlighted that Jax failed to inform the woman he befriended about his previous convictions or the restrictions preventing him from being alone with boys.
She was appalled and severed contact after he declared his romantic feelings for a 16-year-old.
In a separate incident, Jax befriended another woman with a 14-year-old son and again groped the boy's genitals when alone.
Judge Stephen Climie remarked that Jax had deliberately and dishonestly targeted individuals with children following his release, deeming him dangerous.
The judge’s extended sentence of eight years, including four years behind bars, reflected this assessment.
