RUGELEY MAN SIMON PERRY SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES IN STAFFORD
In June 2017, Simon Perry, a 52-year-old resident of Rugeley, faced serious legal consequences after being found guilty of possessing indecent images of young girls. The case was heard at Stafford Crown Court, where the jury convicted Perry on 16 counts related to the possession of explicit material depicting children in various states of abuse.Among the images and videos that led to his conviction were those classified in the most severe category of indecency, which included depictions of rape and torture involving young children. The evidence also revealed that some of the images involved deceased children, adding a disturbing dimension to the case.
The court proceedings detailed that the indecent content was stored on multiple devices used by Perry, including his mobile phone, as well as both his home and work computers. Authorities also uncovered that Perry had engaged in online conversations with other individuals who shared similar perverted interests, discussing and encouraging the sexual abuse of children.
Following the conviction, Perry was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The judge described him as a 'calculating and manipulative' individual, emphasizing the severity of his actions. Additionally, Perry was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his contact with children and prevent further offenses.
Upon his release from prison, Perry will be required to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable victims from such heinous crimes.
