SIMON FULLER BURIED INNOCENT IMAGES SCANDAL IN BURY ST EDMUNDS
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Bury St Edmunds, Simon Fuller, aged 37, was brought before Ipswich Crown Court to face serious charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children.The investigation was sparked by a tip-off that led authorities to his residence on Sherborne Road, where a detailed search uncovered a staggering collection of illegal material.
During the police raid, officers discovered approximately 800 indecent images stored on a computer hard drive and a tower, revealing the extent of Fuller’s illicit activities.
The images included both still photographs and moving footage, all depicting minors in exploitative and illegal situations.
Prosecutor Michael Crimp highlighted that five of the images sent abroad, specifically to someone in Queensland, Australia, were classified as the most serious category, indicating their highly disturbing nature.
Further investigation revealed that Fuller had transmitted these images to an individual in Queensland, Australia, marking a troubling international dimension to the case.
The police also found six moving images among the material, emphasizing the severity of the offenses.
Despite the gravity of his actions, it was noted that Fuller had no prior criminal record and had expressed remorse during the proceedings.
Fuller pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images of children and one count of distributing such images.
The court heard that he had no previous convictions, which influenced the sentencing decision.
Judge John Devaux acknowledged the seriousness of the crimes but decided that a custodial sentence was not appropriate in this case.
Instead, Fuller was handed a three-year community order, which includes a requirement to participate in rehabilitation programs.
He was also disqualified from working with children, a measure aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals from potential harm.
The court ordered the forfeiture of all computer equipment used in the offenses and mandated that Fuller sign the sex offenders register for five years.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £200.
