MAN JAILED AFTER INCITING AND BLACKMAILING MORE THAN 150 CHILDREN TO SHARE EXPLICIT CONTENT
A child sex offender with a high volume of crimes has been jailed for grooming more than 150 minors through online channels.Siah Riley was first detained in November 2023 after authorities received intelligence that he was blackmailing and persuading two children into sexual acts.
Additionally, authorities believed he was in possession of indecent images.
Following the arrest, police seized Riley’s electronic devices.
He was interviewed but subsequently released on bail pending further inquiries.
During the interview, he made admissions that led to the imposition of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), especially considering his previous rape conviction.
The SHPO prohibited Riley from using electronic gadgets without declaring them to police and sharing passwords.
An examination of his laptop uncovered a large collection of material related to online sexual abuse involving 152 victims across the globe, spanning from January 2021 to October 2023.
It was discovered that Riley initially contacted underage girls via an online platform, then transitioned the conversations to Snapchat, where he impersonated a peer of their age.
He operated under the usernames ‘King Josh’, ‘Josh King’, and ‘Kim Queen’.
He engaged in grooming by encouraging victims to send nude photographs and videos of themselves.
From April 2023, Riley began blackmailing those who refused to send explicit content.
He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual acts, engaging in sexual communication, blackmail, breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and creating indecent images relating to the initial police report.
Due to the scale of his offending, his indictment was split into two parts.
On 18 February 2026, he faced 117 counts for inciting minors to sexual acts, 22 counts of blackmail, 5 counts of sexual communication, and one count of facilitating a child sex offence.
Upon admitting all charges, Riley appeared at Derby Crown Court on 7 May for sentencing, where he received a 25-year prison sentence plus a six-year extended license.
At that point, he had groomed his victims to such an extent that they had sent him nude images, which he threatened to share online.
Riley also recorded his Snapchat interactions, which contained his demands, chat logs, and coerced explicit material from victims, storing it on his laptop.
The 35-year-old was rearrested in February 2025, charged with offences, and kept on remand.
