ELLEMSERE PORT MAN JAILED FOR POSSESSION OF HUNDREDS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
AN ELLESMERE Port man will sign the sex offenders’ register ahead of his sentencing for child sex abuse images and extreme pornography.Andrew Fairbrother, 57, of Wolverham Road, pleaded guilty to five charges at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 29.
He admitted having possession of 219 images of child sex abuse, with 70 category A, 18 category B and 131 category C.
Fairbrother also admitted being in possession of 37 images portraying sexual intercourse with an animal, dead or alive.
Prosecutor Umer Zeb told the court that on September 18 last year, Cheshire Police officers attended the defendant’s property after receiving intelligence of the images on his devices.
Mr Zeb added that when an examination of the devices was completed by February 2025, the images were confirmed to be on the laptop.
Magistrates were asked to keep the case at the lower court by defence solicitor Richard Thomas, which they agreed with, and ordered a pre-sentence report.
However, they also reserved the right for the next sentencing bench to send the case to crown court.
Fairbrother was given conditional bail and told to return to Chester Magistrates Court for sentencing on Tuesday, August 26.
He was told to also register with police in Blacon within three days to formally register as a sex offender.
