SHAUN WESTERN SENTENCED FOR RAPE IN COLCHESTER AFTER NIGHT OUT HORROR
In a significant case that has brought justice to a woman from Colchester, Shaun Western has been convicted of a heinous sexual assault that occurred in September 2018.The incident took place after a night out with friends, when the victim returned to her flat in Colchester and was subjected to a brutal attack while she was asleep.

The attacker, 24-year-old Shaun Western, of Edward Paxman Gardens in Colchester, faced justice at Chelmsford Crown Court.
On Tuesday, May 2nd, Western was found guilty of the crime of rape and was subsequently sentenced to six years and six months in prison.

The police were contacted, and Western was arrested the very next day.
During the investigation, officers identified several key witnesses and conducted extensive inquiries to build a solid case against him.
In his police interview, Western attempted to claim that the sexual encounter was consensual, but the jury saw through his false narrative and convicted him of the crime.
As part of his sentence, Western will be subject to an indefinite restraining order, preventing him from approaching or contacting the victim.
Additionally, he will remain on the sex offender register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community and prevent further offenses.
