Shaun Paul Elliott, known as TAZ and from Peterlee/Easington in County Durham, was given a 16-year prison term in 2015 after committing a series of sexual assaults characterized by violence and aggression.
The case involved a woman who was attacked twice, with Elliott raping her four times during these encounters.
Despite her efforts to escape—once by running nude through a garden—he managed to catch her each time and continue his assault.
During the first attack in March 2013, she was able to send a distress message to a friend, but Elliott persisted in his violence.
It was noted that he made reference to a peacock tattoo on his arm, which was interpreted as an indication of his perceived dominance and sexual vigor.
The court emphasized the seriousness of his crimes, which caused lasting trauma to the victim.
Durham Crown Court sentenced him in 2015, highlighting that his conduct was among the most extreme forms of sexual violence recognized in the justice system.
