SHARON SMITH FROM KELSO FACES COURT OVER NEIGHBOURHOOD DISPUTE IN ORCHARD PARK

A woman from Kelso has come under legal scrutiny after she admitted to engaging in threatening and abusive behavior during a dispute within her local neighborhood. Sharon Smith, aged 38, appeared before Jedburgh Sheriff Court to face charges related to an incident that took place in Orchard Park, a well-known area within Kelso.

According to court records, the incident unfolded when Smith lost her temper with two young boys who were playing in the street. The boys had reportedly made comments towards her, which appeared to provoke her reaction. Witnesses described the situation as escalating quickly, with Smith shouting and using offensive language in a manner deemed threatening.

The prosecutor, Graham Fraser, explained that the incident was serious enough to warrant police involvement. He stated that a 12-year-old boy, one of the children involved, went home and informed his mother about the altercation. The situation then escalated further, leading to police being called to the scene to manage the disturbance.

During her court appearance, Sharon Smith pleaded guilty to the charges of shouting and swearing in a public place. The court took her admission into account and subsequently imposed a fine of £180 as a penalty for her behavior.
