TRANS RAPIST JAILED AFTER HORRIFIC SEX ATTACKS ON SCHOOLGIRLS
A trans rapist has been convicted of horrific sex attacks on schoolgirls, sparking new fears over SNP prison policy.Serenity Johnston, 34, formerly known as David, was found guilty of five offences last week after a trial at the high court in Livingston.
The case involves attacks on two sisters aged between nine and 11 years old between November 2006 and September 2012, before Johnston transitioned.
The judge Lord Mulholland said: “These are very serious offences to rape children – basically a disgrace – and you’ll pay a very heavy price for what you did.” Johnston was led from the dock in handcuffs but was allowed to carry a small blue handbag.
Sentencing was deferred until March 13 for background reports, including a risk assessment, and Johnston was ordered to be added to the sex offenders’ register.
The case has raised concerns about prison policies allowing transgender individuals to be housed based on affirmed gender, with critics arguing the rules are ambiguous and pose risks to female inmates.

Serenity Francis Johnston, 34 — a biological male formerly known as David — targeted vulnerable children in Livingston, West Lothian, during a disturbing six-year period of offending.
The High Court heard how Johnston preyed on three girls aged between eight and 15, subjecting them to sexual assaults and rape between November 2006 and April 2012.
The victims, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, were still children when the abuse began.
One of Johnston's victims was just nine years old when the attacks started.
She was repeatedly assaulted and raped by the predator.
Another girl was raped at a house in Livingston during a period between March 2011 and September 2012.
A third victim, aged 15 at the time, was also sexually assaulted in 2012.
Johnston denied the charges but was convicted by a jury at the High Court in Livingston last month following a trial.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Mulholland told Johnston that the crimes had devastated the victims' childhoods.
The judge said the girls had been "robbed of their innocence and happiness" by the attacks.
He warned that raping children was among the most serious crimes a court could deal with and said those responsible would face long prison sentences.
Addressing Johnston directly, Lord Mulholland said the abuse had "corrupted their innocence and early childhood years" and left the victims with lasting psychological harm.
The court heard Johnston had shown little remorse for the crimes.
