HEYWOOD MAN SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR SERIAL SEXUAL ASSAULTS
Heywood rapist Sean Purcell has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for his actions.He was accused of repeatedly attacking three women he met through dating websites, under the influence of jealousy and paranoia about their relationships with others.
Purcell admitted to four counts of rape and five counts of sexual assault.
The court heard that he would often enter violent rages and subject his victims to sustained campaigns of rape, sexual violence, controlling behavior, and coercive abuse.
Greater Manchester Police described him as a highly dangerous individual, highlighting that he was a prolific serial offender with a consistent modus operandi of flying into jealous rages and humiliating his victims through sexual assaults.
Officer Det Con Janet Malone urged anyone with information about Purcell to come forward.
The court's decision underscores the severity of his crimes and his pattern of abusive behavior.
