SCOTT WOOD FROM TELFORD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AT TELFORD PRISON

In a recent development at Telford, an inmate named Scott Wood has been sentenced to additional time behind bars following a disturbing incident involving a prison staff member.

Wood, who was already serving a sentence for grievous bodily harm, was found guilty of deliberately touching a female prison worker's bottom during his incarceration at Telford Prison.

The incident occurred last November, and Wood, aged 44 and without a fixed address, admitted to the sexual assault during the court proceedings.

The case was heard at Telford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 2, where the judge handed down a sentence of nine extra weeks in prison.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Wood was mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, reflecting the seriousness of his misconduct.

According to West Mercia Police, Wood was already imprisoned for causing grievous bodily harm, which underscores the troubling pattern of his criminal behavior.

The incident at Telford Prison has garnered attention not only because of the nature of the assault but also due to the distress it caused the victim.

Detective Constable Joanne Heyes, who is investigating the case, described the experience as 'distressing' for the female staff member involved.

She expressed her support for the victim and emphasized the importance of justice being served.
