NORWICH RAPIST SCOTT MORGAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS
A rapist described by police as "a dangerous individual" has been jailed for seven years.Scott Morgan, 25, of Recorder Road in Norwich, was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of rape.
The incident occurred on March 13, 2023, when the victim had been on a night out with Morgan and friends.
Morgan, the victim and a friend returned to Morgan’s home to continue socialising.
While the victim was in the bathroom, Morgan asked the other friend to leave so he could be alone with the victim.
Morgan then proceeded to rape the victim on two separate occasions.
The victim fled the property and contacted police.
Morgan was arrested shortly after suspicion arose, taken to Wymondham Police Station, bailed, and later charged.
At Norwich Crown Court, Morgan was sentenced to seven years in prison and three years on extended licence.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
The investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Lawrence Oakes, stated: “Norfolk Police are committed to supporting victims of sexual offences and bringing offenders to justice.
Morgan is a dangerous individual who, thanks to the bravery and courage of the victim, no longer poses a threat to the community in Norwich.
No sentence will ever heal the trauma Morgan has inflicted on his victim however, I do sincerely hope that the closure of this case will be another stage in their healing process."
