Scott Buxton, who is without a fixed residence, appeared before Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.
He was convicted of multiple charges including rape, attempted rape, threats to kill, and threats to damage or destroy property after an eight-day trial.
The 32-year-old individual is scheduled to be sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
In May 2025, Buxton issued several threats to kill the victim and threatened to blow up her car during a phone conversation with a member of her family.
This led the victim to alert the police.
She also reported to law enforcement that on prior occasions, she had awakened to find Buxton either raping her or attempting to do so.
Additionally, Buxton had mentioned knowing details about her whereabouts that she had not shared, and he sought to control her by making alternative plans intended to keep her from socializing with others, effectively maintaining influence over her movements.
Following these events, Buxton was arrested, taken in for an interview regarding the charges, and subsequently charged with the offences.
