SAMUEL HAMILTON SENTENCED TO 21 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL OFFENSES IN KINGSTANDING AND BEYOND
A man identified as Samuel Hamilton has been handed a severe prison sentence of 21 years following his conviction for a series of disturbing sexual crimes involving young girls. Hamilton, who resides on Hartley Road in Kingstanding, carried out these heinous acts over a span of two years, from 2018 to 2020, targeting victims who were all under the age of 16. The victims, none of whom knew each other, were subjected to a range of sexual offenses, including rapes, attempted rapes, sexual assaults by penetration, and other sexual assaults.Authorities from multiple police jurisdictions, including West Midlands Police, Derbyshire Police, and Northamptonshire Police, collaborated extensively during the investigation. Their combined efforts led to Hamilton’s arrest, subsequent charges, and eventual conviction. The case was brought before Nottingham Crown Court, where on November 17, 2020, Hamilton was found guilty of 11 counts related to his crimes. These counts included two counts of rape, one attempted rape, one sexual assault by penetration, and four additional sexual assault charges involving different young girls.
During the sentencing hearing, His Honour Judge James Sampson described Hamilton as a 'dangerous and predatory' individual. The judge emphasized the opportunistic nature of each attack and pointed out Hamilton’s apparent lack of remorse. In his remarks, Judge Sampson stated, “Each rape was opportunistic and you clearly showed no remorse,” underscoring the severity of Hamilton’s actions. As a result, he was sentenced to an extended term of 21 years in prison, with a minimum of 16 years to be served behind bars. An additional five years will be served on license after his release.
Furthermore, Hamilton has been ordered to register as a sex offender for life and has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes restrictions aimed at preventing further offenses. Detective Dan Hayes from Northamptonshire Police expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the bravery of the victims who came forward to share their experiences despite the trauma involved. Hayes emphasized that the lengthy sentence is intended to keep Hamilton off the streets and prevent him from harming others in the future.
The case underscores the relentless efforts of multiple police forces working together to seek justice for victims of such heinous crimes. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting victims and ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their actions, especially when they target vulnerable young girls in communities like Kingstanding and across the Midlands and beyond.
