A man who admitted killing his wife has been sentenced to a period in a psychiatric hospital.
Police were called to Rochfords Gardens in Slough, Berkshire, on Valentine's Day where they found 53-year-old Brigitta Rasuli with serious injuries.
She died in hospital two weeks later on 1 March.
Samir Rasuli, 58, pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
At sentencing on 21 August, Rasuli was given a hospital order with a restriction order.
In a statement, Ms Rasuli's twin sister Timea paid tribute to the "devoted mother, daughter and sister" and expressed her grief and sense of loss, calling it a "senseless tragedy that could have been prevented." Det Ch Insp Laura Corscadden highlighted the emotional impact on the family and described the profound grief experienced.
