DERBY MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE AFTER TEEN ASSAULT
A man named Sameh Elsayed has been formally charged with serious sexual offenses following an incident where a teenage girl was assaulted on the Rainbow Bridge over St Alkmund's Way near to the Leonardo Hotel in Derby.According to Derbyshire Police, the assault took place at approximately 01:00 GMT on 15 November.
The attack involved sexual assault and rape, and the suspect was identified and taken into custody after a CCTV appeal by the police.
Elsayed, aged 36 and residing at Broke Walk, Hackney, London, was subsequently charged with three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
He appeared earlier this month at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
