ANDREW TAYLOR (ALSO KNOWN AS ANDY SMITH) – DERBY MAN ADMITS CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Andrew Taylor, who has been using the alias Andy Smith, has pleaded guilty at Derby Crown Court to multiple child sexual offences.The hearing took place on 8 September 2025.
Taylor admitted four counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and two counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child.
Following his guilty pleas, the court adjourned the case to 10 November 2025 for sentencing to allow for the preparation of reports to assist in determining an appropriate sentence.
He was released on bail under strict conditions, including residence at an approved address and a requirement to register with the police under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The offences date back to investigations initiated in 2022, with sentencing scheduled to take place before Derby Crown Court in November 2025.
