CARE HOME WORKER SEXUALLY ASSAULTED FIVE FEMALE COLLEAGUES
Samantha Lee, a 31-year-old woman responsible for sexually assaulting five female colleagues at a care home in Larbert, has been struck off the Scottish social work register following her conviction and subsequent disciplinary proceedings.Lee was convicted of seven counts of sexual assault against her colleagues at Falkirk Sheriff Court in July 2024, after a two-day trial.
The offences, which took place between January and July 2024, included inappropriate touching, making sexual remarks, and public slapping of colleagues’ bottoms.
One victim described her experience as “traumatic,” recounting that Lee approached her at the nurse’s station, seized her head with both hands, pulled it into her chest, and then into her cleavage, shaking her breasts.
The victim also reported that Lee made inappropriate remarks about her partner’s genitals and publicly slapped her bottom during a meal in the care home’s dining area, witnessed by residents.
Following the investigation by management, four other victims came forward, describing feeling “violated” and recounting multiple instances of inappropriate behaviour, including touching and nipple twisting.
Lee resigned from her role as a carer at the facility, which caters to adults aged 18 to 65, and police became involved.
Lee denied all allegations, insisting she was “happy and bubbly” and had “never hurt anybody.” However, Sheriff Neil Kinnear found the evidence credible and reliable, emphasising the emotional trauma experienced by the initial victim and stating, “Your position is that this is all made up.
That would mean me accepting that not one, not three, but five colleagues of yours all deliberately made up lies about you to get you into trouble.
I found all five to be credible and reliable.
I have no reason to disbelieve them.” In addition to her criminal conviction, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) conducted an inquiry into Lee’s conduct.
The SSSC concluded that her behaviour over the seven months was “a sustained pattern of sexualised conduct towards multiple colleagues,” which endangered their emotional well-being.
The authority noted that Lee failed to demonstrate any understanding or remorse for her actions and expressed concerns regarding her “character and core values.” As a result, Lee was formally removed from the social services register on July 10, 2026.
The SSSC also mandated that Lee adhere to the sex offenders’ register notification requirements for one year.
Sentencing was initially postponed to March 24, 2025, to allow for a background report and assessment for a possible electronic monitoring restriction.
Lee was released on bail pending sentencing and was ordered to undergo a one-year period of social work supervision.
She was also required to comply with the sex offenders’ register notification requirements for a year.
During the trial, Lee turned to staff members sitting nearby and shouted “scumbags” from the dock.
