MANCHESTER WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO HARASSMENT AND STALKING
Sam Wall, a social media consultant aged 55, has pleaded guilty to charges of stalking and harassment. Her offending involves targeting victims with false online accusations and abusive messages over a period of more than four years.
Wall was convicted at Manchester Magistrates' Court last November, and her sentencing has been delayed twice.
The judge indicated she should expect a prison sentence.
Wall's legal team presented a psychiatric report suggesting she suffers from a chronic delusional mental health illness.
Her victims include Brad Burton, a motivational speaker she met briefly at a workshop, and Naomi Timperley, a businesswoman, among others.
Wall falsely claimed Mr Burton had been harassing her for ten years and that he had been jailed, which he proved false with photos.
She posted hundreds of degrading and false allegations across social media, which significantly impacted her victims' lives, including damaging Mr Burton's business during the pandemic.
Despite being told to stop, she continued her online abuse, ignorantly claiming that Mr Burton was in jail and that he was being replaced by his twin.
Wall also falsely accused Mrs Timperley of criminal activity.
Her actions have been described as causing 'hideous' suffering to her victims.
The case highlights the failure of social media platforms to remove her abusive content despite being informed of her conviction.
Wall faces a likely prison sentence, and her case exemplifies the ongoing issues with online stalking and harassment, which are often poorly dealt with by authorities.
