In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Maidstone, Ryan Perrins, a known sex offender from the town, has been handed a significant prison sentence following a series of heinous crimes against a young girl. Perrins, aged 35 and residing on Heathorn Street, was convicted of multiple serious offences, including sexual assault, violence, and drug possession, after a lengthy legal process that culminated in his sentencing at Maidstone Crown Court. The case revealed that Perrins engaged in a prolonged period of abuse spanning approximately seven months, up until October 2023. During this time, he targeted a vulnerable teenage girl, whom he supplied with cannabis, exploiting her for his own gratification. The abuse was not only sexual but also involved violent physical assaults, with one particularly brutal incident where Perrins forcibly pressed her head against the side of a parked van, an act that left her traumatized.
The victim made numerous attempts to sever contact with Perrins, seeking to escape his manipulative and abusive behavior. Despite her efforts, Perrins responded with violence and intimidation. On one occasion, he bombarded her with an alarming 59 phone calls within a span of just 12 hours, demonstrating a disturbing pattern of harassment and control.
The legal proceedings began when Perrins was arrested on January 31, 2024. During his arrest, authorities found evidence of cannabis possession, which he later admitted to, pleading guilty to the drug-related charges. He also admitted to assaulting the girl, but he denied four counts of sexual activity with a minor, maintaining his innocence on those charges.
The case went to trial, and after a thorough examination of the evidence, Perrins was found guilty of all charges, including the sexual offences, assault, and drug possession. The court's judgment was delivered on June 6, 2025, where he was sentenced to seven years in prison. Additionally, Perrins will be subject to a restraining order for ten years following his release, aimed at protecting the victim from further contact or harassment.
This case underscores the serious nature of the crimes committed by Perrins and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the judicial system in Maidstone to combat abuse and protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
