SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED IN FOLKESTONE JAILED
A registered sex offender previously residing in west Kent has been sentenced to a year in prison for using fictitious identities to access social media platforms. In 2008, Ryan Page was convicted at Maidstone Crown Court of raping a woman, resulting in a prison sentence of six years and 10 months.
After his release, he was subject to strict conditions, including restrictions on his internet usage.
In 2023, authorities discovered that Page had been operating on social media using fake aliases.
On Snapchat, he used the names ‘Jim White’ and ‘Ryan Wenham’, while on Facebook, he called himself ‘Ryan Chantilly’.
These actions represented a breach of the notification obligations mandated by the court.
Law enforcement tracked him to a hotel in Folkestone, where he was arrested in November 2024.
The 38-year-old, who had no fixed address, faced four charges of violating his sex offender notification requirements.
Page denied the allegations.
When he did not attend his trial scheduled for October 2025, he was convicted in his absence.
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was located in Somerset on Monday, 9 March 2026.
