A man aged 70 has been classified as a 'dangerous sexual predator' and will be subject to lifelong monitoring and restrictions.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison and received an Order of Lifelong Restriction (OLR) after being found guilty of historic sexual offences.
The crimes attributed to Russell Pender span several decades and occurred in various locations within Edinburgh, Midlothian, and Fife, dating from 1972 to 2021.
At the High Court in Glasgow, in December 2025, Pender was convicted of multiple serious sexual offences, including the sexual assault of a minor.
He will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
