TEEN SENT THREATENING MESSAGES BEFORE RAPING SCHOOLGIRL
Kamryn Painter, 19, sexually assaulted and raped the 14-year-old girl in Midlothian between October 2021 and February 2022, despite her saying no.He had previously sent threatening messages to her and engaged in a course of abusive behaviour.
During his trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, Painter denied attempting to rape or raping her, claiming he did not do it and was angry about the accusations.
The victim testified that Painter was manipulative, pressured her into sex, and raped her after she refused.
Following the jury verdict, Painter was placed on the sex offenders’ register and remanded in custody.
The judge, John Morris KC, deferred sentence for the preparation of a background report.
