DERBY MAN JAILED FOR NINE YEARS FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
October 2025: Now believed to be living in Mickleover 40-year-old Rupert Harvey from Woods Lane, Derby, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for serious sexual offenses.
He was convicted of two counts of rape against two women and two counts of sexual assault against another woman.
The court did not reach a verdict on six additional counts of rape involving a fourth alleged victim, and the judge directed that these be considered not guilty.
Restraining orders were issued at the sentencing, prohibiting Harvey from contacting all four women involved.
Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sexual offenders register for life.
The sentencing took place at Derby Crown Court on March 23.
Detective Constable Mark Hallam, who investigated the case, praised the victims for their bravery in coming forward and giving evidence, stating: “I would like to commend the victims for coming forward and their bravery in giving evidence in court and having to relive their ordeal.
Some of the victims felt they wouldn’t be believed, so we hope this encourages other victims of such cases to come forward.”
