ROYSTON GILL SENTENCED TO 21.5 YEARS AT WORCESTER CROWN COURT FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A sexual offender has been sentenced to 21 and a half years in prison at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, 21 November.
Royston Gill, aged 58 and residing on Rose Avenue in Worcester, was convicted by a jury in July of multiple historical sexual offences against children in Worcester.
Her Honour Judge Gilmore also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) on Gill.
The judge stated that he abused his victims between September 1996 and February 2002.
Gill denied committing these offences during police interviews and entered a plea of not guilty at court.
The case was effectively prosecuted by Rebbeca Wade KC at Worcester Crown Court.
On Wednesday, 3 July 2024, Gill was found guilty of 10 counts and was immediately remanded into custody prior to sentencing.
His convictions include three counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, six counts of indecent assault, and one count of indecency with a child.
The sentencing reflects the court's findings following a thorough trial that uncovered a series of serious sexual offenses committed against young victims.
