JULIAN DAVIS SENTENCED IN WORCESTERSHIRE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES AND ILLEGAL ITEMS

On Monday, January 6th, a serious case involving Julian Davis, a 62-year-old man from Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire, culminated in his sentencing after a disturbing attempt to engage in sexual activity with a minor.

The incident came to light following a meticulous operation conducted by officers from West Mercia Police’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET).

Julian Davis was apprehended on December 4, 2024, at a location in Worcester, where law enforcement officials executed a targeted arrest based on intelligence suggesting his involvement in attempting to facilitate sexual contact with a child.

During the arrest, officers discovered a variety of incriminating items inside his vehicle, which included cable ties, handcuffs, a whip, lubricant, and amphetamine drugs.

Additionally, they found Viagra and baby wipes, along with multiple mobile phones, which were seized and subjected to detailed digital analysis.

Following his arrest, Davis was taken for questioning and subsequently charged on December 5.

The following day, he was granted bail under strict conditions, notably including a prohibition on any direct or indirect contact with individuals under the age of 18.

These conditions were set in anticipation of his court appearance at Worcester Crown Court.

At the court hearing, Davis was found guilty of several serious charges.

These included attempting to communicate sexually with a child as an adult, possessing a controlled substance classified as Class B – amphetamine, and arranging or facilitating an offense involving sexual activity with a minor, which could include causing or inciting penetration.

The court’s judgment reflected the gravity of his actions and the potential harm posed to minors.

In sentencing, the judge handed Davis a prison term of 32 months.

Furthermore, he was ordered to be subject to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order (SHPO), which aims to restrict his future conduct and protect the community.

Davis was also mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely and was ordered to pay costs amounting to £150.

These measures underscore the seriousness with which the justice system treats offenses of this nature.

Detective Constable Richard Britton, representing West Mercia’s OCSET, commented on the case, stating, “We carried out this operation on December 4th targeting Davis following intelligence work indicating he was attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.

The items found in his car were alarming and revealed his sickening intentions.

Fortunately, we were able to intervene before any harm could be inflicted on a minor.” He further emphasized the importance of such operations, saying, “We are pleased that charges have been brought against Davis and that he has received a substantial prison sentence.

Upon his release, he will remain under a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and will be registered on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and community safety.”
