OFFENDER WITH 11 CONVICTIONS HANDED 26 MONTHS FOR HARASSMENT AND THREATS
A man named Ross Milward has a history of violence and abusive behavior towards former partners.Recently, he bombarded an ex-partner with hundreds of abusive and threatening messages after their relationship ended.
The court heard that Milward had previously pleaded guilty to harassment, sending threatening communications, and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.
He has 11 prior convictions for 22 offences, including inflicting grievous bodily harm, batteries, and criminal damages related to ex-partners.
In the latest incidents, Milward threatened to stab his ex in the face and used derogatory terms about her.
On February 26, he was arrested after he continued to contact the woman following his release on bail.
He subsequently handed himself in and gave a prepared statement denying the allegations, then answered 'no comment' to all questions.
In April, he was involved in a separate incident where he threatened another woman after a brief dating period, and was caught confronting a young boy with a knife, during which he made stabbing motions and ran off, leaving behind a knife, his phone, and a shoe.
Milward was eventually found hiding in a nearby property.
He was sentenced to 24 months in prison, with two months of his previous suspended sentence activated, amounting to a total of 26 months.
The judge described his behavior as ‘vile and relentless bullying’ stemming from alcohol and personality issues, questioning why any woman would want to be involved with him.
