RONALD BAIN OF HINDLEY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST CHILDREN
In February 2012, a 62-year-old man from Hindley named Ronald Bain was sentenced in connection with multiple sexual offenses.At Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, Bain was convicted of one count of rape and 28 counts of sexual assault.
He received an indeterminate sentence for public protection, with a mandatory minimum of nine years before he can be considered for parole.
Additionally, Bain has been placed on the sex offenders register for life and is subject to a sexual offences prevention order.
Between 1985 and 2010, Bain sexually assaulted ten children aged between five and twelve in the Hindley area.
He also raped a 12-year-old girl during this period.
Detective Constable Susan Molyneux commented, “Bain abused the trust the children and their parents placed in him and subjected them to a number of sexual assaults over a prolonged period of time.
The victims have all been left mentally scarred by the abuse and I hope the sentence Bain has received may go some way to helping mend these scars.”
