ROGER STEVENS FROM KEIGHLEY ADMITS CHILD ABUSE IMAGE CHARGES AHEAD OF SENTENCING

In a significant development at Bradford Crown Court, Roger Stevens, a 50-year-old resident of Long Lee Lane, Long Lee, Keighley, has formally admitted to charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children. The case, which has garnered considerable attention, stems from allegations that span over several years, specifically from November 2011 to May 2015.

Stevens appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court earlier, where he pleaded guilty to creating indecent photographs of minors. The court records indicate that he admitted to making these images during the period mentioned, with a particular acknowledgment of distributing some of these images in June 2013. This act of distribution is considered a serious offense, highlighting the extent of his involvement in the circulation of such illicit material.

In addition to these charges, Stevens faced a third allegation concerning the possession of an extreme pornographic image, which reportedly depicted bestiality. This charge further underscores the disturbing nature of the material involved in the case. Stevens did not contest this particular charge, and it was included in the proceedings.

However, Stevens denied a separate charge that accused him of possessing indecent photographs of children with the intent to distribute or show them to others. This particular charge covered the same timeframe as the others, from November 2011 to May 2015. Prosecutor Stephen Wood informed the court that the Crown Prosecution Service was satisfied with Stevens’ plea and would not pursue a trial on this specific count, indicating a resolution in that aspect of the case.

Furthermore, Mr. Wood mentioned that the precise categorization of the images Stevens sent to others was still under review. The court, presided over by Judge David Hatton QC, ordered that the final determination of this matter be made by July 1. Stevens is scheduled to return to Bradford Crown Court for sentencing on July 22, where the full extent of his penalties will be decided. The case continues to draw public and legal attention due to the serious nature of the offenses involved.
