ROGER LOCKWOOD OF HODDESDON JAILED IN ST ALBANS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCE AND BREACH OF SEXUAL OFFENCES PREVENTION ORDER
In October 2014, Roger Lockwood, aged 47 and residing in Bridle Close, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting to possessing child abuse images.
Lockwood had previously been convicted of similar offences.
During the court hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, September 29, Lockwood pleaded guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing extreme pornography, and a breach of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
The offences occurred between May 2013 and January 2014.
In addition to his custodial sentence, a new SOPO was imposed, and Lockwood will be registered on the sex offender register for life.
Back in May 2010, Lockwood, then aged 43, appeared before Stevenage Magistrates’ Court after being found guilty of possessing over 9,600 child abuse images and 36 movies depicting abuse, as well as an image showing sex with a dog.
Lockwood, of Bridle Close, pleaded guilty to 17 charges including possession of images categorized as A, B, and C, with Category A being the most serious.
His crimes also included viewing adult internet pornography while in Hoddesdon and breaching a previous SOPO issued in 2010.
Defence lawyer Carl Woolf noted that Lockwood was of previous good character but acknowledged that his offences "crossed the custody threshold," a point reinforced when Judge Stephen Warner described the offences as "serious" and granted bail pending sentencing.
