ROBERT TONY BRODIE ARRESTED IN AYR ON MULTIPLE SEXUAL AND VIOLENT CHARGES

Ayr Sheriff Court recently heard serious allegations against Robert Tony Brodie, a 33-year-old man from Ayr, who faces multiple charges related to sexual misconduct, assault, and threatening behavior. Brodie has pleaded not guilty to all charges during a brief pre-trial hearing, and his bail has been maintained as he prepares for future proceedings.

According to the indictment, Brodie is accused of engaging in a series of disturbing sexual acts involving young girls, some as young as 10 years old. The allegations span several years, with claims that between 2009 and 2010, he committed lewd, indecent, and libidinous acts in the presence of a girl aged approximately 10 or 11. It is alleged that he would stare at her while exposing his naked body, creating a highly inappropriate and abusive environment.

The court documents further detail that Brodie allegedly engaged in sexual activity in front of the same girl years later. These acts included pleasuring himself in her presence and intentionally exposing his genitals with the apparent intent of sexual gratification. The accusations specify that he deliberately exposed himself in a sexual manner, knowing that the girl would see his private parts.

Additional charges involve Brodie exposing his genitals to another girl, who was under 13 years old, at two different addresses in Ayr and within a motor vehicle. This behavior reportedly occurred between 2013 and 2018. The indictment also accuses him of attempting to coerce her into sexual activity by instructing her to touch his private parts. Further, it is alleged that Brodie presented a sex toy to her, instructed her to use it, and engaged in verbal sexual communication, including asking her sexual questions and encouraging her to have intercourse. He is also accused of instructing her to look inside a box containing sex toys.

Between May 2018 and May 2022, Brodie is said to have exposed himself to the same girl at various addresses in Ayr. The allegations extend to performing a sex act in front of another teenage girl, making sexual remarks, and sexually assaulting her. In October 2023, he is accused of showing her a video of a female performing a sex act, which is alleged to be a form of sexual exploitation.

Beyond the sexual misconduct charges, Brodie faces serious allegations of threatening and violent behavior. On October 15, 2023, he is accused of causing fear and alarm to a woman by shouting, swearing, and making threats of violence, including threats to kill. During this incident, he is said to have repeatedly kicked a door, damaged household items, seized her mobile phone, and threw it against a wall, resulting in damage.

The indictment also includes a charge of assaulting the same woman during this incident. It is claimed that Brodie grabbed her by the neck, pushed her against a wall, and then threw her onto a set of stairs before pinning her down. These actions depict a pattern of violent and threatening behavior towards the woman involved.

When Brodie appeared before the court, he was represented by Steven Maxwell and entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. His bail was continued, allowing him to remain free while awaiting further court dates. The case will be revisited at a later time as the legal process continues in Ayr.
