EX-SOLDIER BANNED AFTER THREATENING TO KILL PARTNER OVER PHOTOS
Scoular called his long-standing partner to ask for a lift, the solicitor said, and they ended up sleeping together at her Edinburgh home. The court was told he was a former soldier who served in Afghanistan and was currently unemployed.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday and admitted a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
The court was told the woman had 'suspicions' that Scoular was seeing someone else, and she found 'evidence' of his unfaithfulness after checking his phone.
She later took photos of herself with him in bed and threatened to send them to his new partner, which led to him saying: “I’m killing you.” The sheriff fined him £235 and issued a six-month non-harassment order banning contact with his ex.
Sentencing emphasized that his behavior was not acceptable despite issues about the photos taken and that it was not a case of 'two wrongs' making a right.
