COWARDLY CHILD BEATER PUNCHED AND KICKED YOUNG BOYS UNTIL BLACK AND BLUE
2019.A man from Alvaston known for physically assaulting his young victims has been sentenced following a conviction for attacking three individuals.
Robert Ronchi, aged 31, was found guilty in court of assaulting a woman and two children, with some of the injuries resulting in significant bruising for the children.
Ronchi, who resides on Bembridge Drive in Alvaston, pleaded not guilty to four counts of assault at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court, which meant his victims had to act as witnesses in the case.
The jury rendered a guilty verdict after a trial process.
Previously, Ronchi appeared at Derby Crown Court related to a separate incident where he shared a nude picture of a neighbor on his computer with friends, an act classified as 'revenge porn.' Representing Ronchi, Julian Griffiths acknowledged that his client's conduct had escalated over time.
In addressing the assaults, District Judge Andrew Meachin stated: “You assaulted them by punching and kicking multiple times, rather than slapping.” While Ronchi is currently serving a suspended sentence for the revenge porn case, it was noted that this sentence was not breached during the assault offenses.
Judge Meachin also noted that Ronchi's convictions involved the testimony of the two boys, who were required to give evidence and were cross-examined, a distressing experience.
He concluded that the evidence against Ronchi was convincing and that his actions met the threshold for custodial sentences, though ultimately the judge chose to suspend the term.
The court sentenced Ronchi to six months in prison for the assaults, suspended for 18 months.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay £1,065 in court costs and a victim surcharge, and to complete 15 days of rehabilitation programs.
