COLCHESTER MAN TO FACE JAIL FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT AND VEHICLE THEFT
A VIOLENT boyfriend who assaulted his partner then took her car has been told he faces jail when he is sentenced next month.
Ridhwaan Ahmed, 25, appeared in court via a video link from HMP Chelmsford on Tuesday to admit one count each of actual bodily harm, taking a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.
The offences took place in Colchester on July 31.
Shahnawaz Khan, mitigating, asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared so a judge could have a clear idea of the defendant’s background before sentencing him.
Judge Chris Morgan adjourned the hearing until Tuesday, October 7.
Ahmed, of Paige Close, Witham, was remanded in custody.
