Rickie Nehls, also known by the alias Rickie La-Touche, has been handed a life sentence in prison after being convicted of killing his Thai wife, Pornpilai Srisroy, inside their residence.
The court determined that he murdered her through suffocation, imposing a minimum of 12 years before eligibility for parole.
Reports indicate that Nehls admitted to killing his wife after she allegedly threatened to leave him and return to Thailand.
Police reports show that Mrs.
Srisroy was found dead with a pillow pressed against her face, and Nehls later confessed to his mother that he had been responsible for her death.
An autopsy confirmed that the cause was asphyxiation.
Senior investigator Andy Tattersall remarked, ‘He believed he had suffocated his wife,’ and added, ‘While we may never fully understand what transpired that morning, I hope that La-Touche’s sentence provides some degree of closure for Pornpilai's loved ones.’ The judgment was based on the evidence presented, and Nehls now faces the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life.
