ONLINE GROOMER NATHAN HOPE JAILED FOR EXPLOITING GIRL
An online groomer bragged about being a 'paedo' as he told a young girl he wanted to sexually assault her.
Nathan Hope reached out to the 13-year-old online, and went on to send a series of inappropriate, sexualised messages between November 2023 and March 2024.
He was exposed when the 'incriminating messages' were found by the girl's mother.
Hope first contacted the girl on YouTube, later sending her his email address and phone number.
He then invited her to the encrypted messaging app Discord, openly stating he was a 32-year-old 'paedo' who wanted to sexually assault her.
He also met with the girl and kissed her multiple times in Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire Police located Hope, who refused to give login details and answered 'no comment' during the interview.
He later pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to meeting a girl under 16 after grooming, two counts of causing or inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, and three offences under the Child Abduction Act.
He was sentenced to three years in jail and received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to restrict his future online activities and contact with children.
Detective Constable Ross Elms stated that Hope was engaged in an escalating relationship aimed at exploitation, and credited the girl's mother's quick action for preventing further harm.
