BLACKPOOL MAN SENTENCED FOR CAUSING PARTNER'S FALL FROM SECOND FLOOR WINDOW
A man named Richard Sheridan, aged 44, from Chapel Street, Blackpool, has been sentenced to 25 months in jail after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm (GBH).The incident occurred on October 30, 2021, during a heated argument with his partner at their home.
The couple had been drinking Jack Daniels and rum when their dispute escalated.
Sheridan forced his partner out of a second-floor window, causing her to fall two storeys onto a concrete yard below.
The woman suffered a fractured skull, trauma to her lungs, and other injuries.
She had also inflicted a bite mark on herself during the incident.
Sheridan initially told a 999 operator, 'the b**ch has jumped,' but later admitted that he caused her to fall.
During the court proceedings, it was noted that the relationship was tumultuous, driven by alcohol and mental health issues from both parties.
Sheridan, who has previous convictions for being drunk and disorderly, was described by the judge as having used a 'weapon,' considering his actions as highly dangerous.
The judge emphasized the vulnerability of the victim due to her mental health difficulties.
Sheridan's lawyer stated that he did not deliberately push his partner and that his actions were reckless.
Since his remand in custody, Sheridan has reportedly sobered up and intends not to return to Blackpool, acknowledging the toxic nature of their relationship.
Sheridan was sentenced to 25 months in prison for his actions.
