RICHARD DUHRZEN FROM SOUTH OCKENDON SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL ABUSE IN THE 1970S AND 1980S
A man identified as Richard Duhrsen, hailing from South Ockendon, has been handed down a prison sentence of three years after being found guilty of abusing a young girl during the 1970s and 1980s.The offences include attempted rape and indecent assault, crimes that have left a lasting impact on the victim.
Duhrsen, aged 71, admitted to multiple charges following an incident in 2013 that led to the discovery of indecent images on his electronic device.
The authorities uncovered these images incidentally, which prompted further investigation into his past conduct.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of the abuse and the long-term psychological damage inflicted upon the victim, who only came forward to report the abuse many years after the events took place.
In addition to his prison sentence, Richard Duhrsen was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
