A 'vile' paedophile who posed as a PE teacher to send sexually explicit images to a 'child' has been handed a suspended sentence.Richard Dale, 48, of Molineux Court, Newcastle, was sentenced after pretending to be a Physical Education and Sexual Education teacher to get close to a 'girl'.
He did not know he was actually talking to an undercover officer.
He turned the conversation sexual and sent sexually explicit photos of himself to the officer.
On Friday, he was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 21 months.
He is required to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, 45 days of rehabilitation, and was issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
He also must sign the sex offenders register for a decade.
Dale was arrested in April 2024 and convicted of attempting to facilitate child sex offences and sexual communication with a child after a trial in December 2025.
NEROCU Detective Constable Lee Robertson stated: “Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, Dale thought he would take his chances with a trial.
His lies were unpacked before a Judge and he is now facing the consequences of his vile actions.”
