REBECCA WRATTEN KILLS FIVE-MONTH-OLD SON IN DAVENTRY TRAGEDY
In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in the quiet town of Daventry, Rebecca Wratten, a 22-year-old mother, was involved in the tragic death of her five-month-old son, Jordan.The events took place at the family home located in Nansen Close, Ashby Fields, where Wratten, after consuming a significant amount of vodka, committed an act that would forever alter her life and leave the community in shock.
According to court reports, Jordan was peacefully sleeping in his baby chair when Wratten, in a state of intoxication, placed a cushion over his head.
The force she applied was so intense that it caused the chair he was sitting in to bend, indicating the level of pressure exerted.
The cause of death was determined to be smothering, with the prosecution confirming that the cushion was held over the child's face long enough to prevent him from breathing.
The tragic event occurred sometime between 11:45 pm on August 31 and 12:15 am on September 1, last year.
Witnesses in the neighborhood heard two or three loud screams from Wratten during the night, which prompted her to contact emergency services.
During her call, she expressed her distress, stating that she believed her son was dead.
