RAYMOND RUSSELL JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Maidstone community, Raymond Russell, a 64-year-old man from Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, has been sentenced to five years in prison for a series of serious sexual offenses committed over a span of nearly three decades.
The crimes, which involved the sexual abuse of young girls, were detailed during a court hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, revealing a disturbing pattern of misconduct that dates back to 1982.
Russell was found guilty of 20 counts of indecent assault, seven counts of sexual assault of a child, and one count of indecency with a child.
The court heard that his actions included inappropriate touching both over and under the clothing of his young victims.
One girl recounted that Russell had told her not to tell anyone about what had happened, a common tactic used by offenders to silence their victims and maintain control.
