EX-CIVIL SERVANT CONVICTED FOR STALKING WITH WHITEHALL CAMPAIGN
A former senior civil servant has been convicted of stalking her ex-colleague after camping out in Whitehall with a ‘waiting for my Wilko’ sign.Economist Ray Israel-Wilkinson declared her love for Alex Wilkinson after working with him at the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS).
The 33-year-old changed her name from Rayner Sultan to give the impression they were married and created social media pages claiming they were in a relationship.
Mr Wilkinson said her obsessive behaviour, which included pinning a tweet of 104 love songs dedicated to him, made him feel ‘uncomfortable and violated’.
The court heard that on one occasion on May 27 last year, she sat outside their workplace with a homemade placard which read: ‘Waiting for my Wilko.’ Israel-Wilkinson, of Milton Keynes, did not attend court and was convicted in her absence.
She was convicted of stalking her former colleague between July and October 2021.
The court stated that her actions caused significant distress and impacted Mr Wilkinson emotionally, with behavior including social media manipulation, grand gestures like camping outside, and harassment through various accounts claiming they were in a relationship.
