MAN JAILED FOR 11 YEARS FOR RAPE AND CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man who brought a 15-year-old girl to his residence after meeting her in a town center has received an 11-year prison sentence for charges of rape and encouraging a child to participate in sexual activity.Rasseika Duncan (born 4 November 1984), who has no fixed address, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday, 18 September, after being convicted in June of this year.
The court was told that on Saturday, 1 October 2022, Duncan was in Hyde when he approached a girl walking through the area around 8pm.
Following a brief conversation, Duncan persuaded her to return with him to his home in Stalybridge.
During the journey, he purchased some cannabis.
At the address, he locked the door to the room, forced himself upon her, and continued his assault despite her efforts to resist.
A friend of the girl, who had previously seen her with Duncan and expressed concerns, helped trace her phone, leading police to his address—where he was arrested later that evening.
An extensive investigation by GMP’s Tameside Child Sexual Exploitation team resulted in Duncan being charged with these offenses.
He was also subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and a restraining order alongside his prison sentence.
